Excellent!
I bought this for a classroom project - it works beautifully for making butter and watching the whole process. The children (5 and 6 year olds) were easily able to use this. I've since used it at home with my grandkids - lots of fun!

All metal mechanism
Seems to be well made at a reasonable price.

Pretty decent
It's a pretty decent little butter churn. Using heavy whipping cream, I was able to make butter in about 5-10 minutes. Super simple. Downside I see is that the metal seems a bit cheaper, but I also don't see it rusting. No metal flaked off, nothing like that. You also can't fill it too full, otherwise if you're cranking it fast, whatever cream you are using may spill a little bit around the top of the lid, near the gears (not a big deal, it's not a flaw, it's just that that means it may be filled a bit too full). For the quality of it, I do consider it a bit more expensive than it needs to be, but it works well and is a cheaper option, so there is that.Mine did NOT come broken, it was completely fine. It also comes with something to set the jar on to keep it from sliding. I haven't used it yet, we took the handle off, attached a drill and set the speed, and duct taped the trigger on it to save our hands 😆

Didn’t last one use
Gears chewed up and metal flaked off before I could even get to the separation stage first time I used it.

It is easy to make butter.
This butter churn is really well made. I've bought others of similar size, shape and method of operating and none of them could churn the butter as it thickened. This one was my "last" attempt at getting a compact butter churn and I was thankfully surprised. The part on the earlier purchased churns that failed was the gears that drive the paddle, all the other churns had cheap, loose gears that would slip causing the paddle to stop as the butter thickened. This churn is so well constructed of better materials and heavier gears that it effortlessly mixed the butter and never once slipped or failed. It takes about 7 to 8 minutes to churn about 1/2 lb of butter and it's awesome. I highly recommend this churn.

No Plastic Parts!
I have just opened the box and used my butter churn. I am in love with it. No plastic parts aside from a gasket on the lid. Very old fashioned wood, glass and metal parts. I filled it half way up and placed it on my counter top with the handy rubber circle provided in the kit. I started churning and when my hand became tired I was able to turn it around and use my other hand. I kept rotating between hands and not soon after the butter started to separate from the buttermilk. I was shocked how fast it occurred. I prepared my bowl of ice water and the rest of the process was a sinch. Pro Tip: Definitely get yourself whipping cream that has a high fat content. Mine was from Whole Foods and it was named Alexandre. Also have your parchment paper and a long spatula ready to go. If you want to save the buttermilk from the jar have a glass within reach. I think my only minor Con is that I am not able to pop the churning lid into the dishwasher because of the wooden parts. However I am pleased with the metal parts and will wash it by hand. Overall a fantastic experience and I look forward to making more butter at home!
