Alfi Brand AB1130 2 Person Free Standing Cedar Wooden Bathtub with Fixtures & Headrests, 65"L x 30.75"W x 23.63"H, Natural Wood

This is an incredible bathtub that has become the highlight of our remodeled master bathroom. The craftsmanship is top notch. It's extremely thick, constructed with multiple layers of cedar planks, and the sanding and sealing of the wood makes it feel as smooth as a porcelain tub. It is truly incredible to look at, and most people who see it didn't even realize that cedar bathtubs were a thing. How very glad I am that they are. Anyone going after a rustic or cabin themed bathroom should seriously consider a tub like this - space allowing of course.While I can't say enough about the appearance of the tub, there are a few negatives - none enough to subtract a star, but worth mentioning. First, the pictures make it appear larger than it actually is. Especially on Alfi's website, the way the photo is composed makes it seem like a massive tub. It's really not - it's actually on the narrow side, and fitting two regular sized adults inside is tricky, to say the least. Either you're sitting with your knees folded up and touching, or you can do that inside/outside leg trick that I'm sure couples with oversized tubs are familiar with, but it's harder in a tub this narrow. Realistically it's ideal for one person to stretch out in, despite it being labeled as a 2 person tub. The second issue (at least for me) is the chrome hardware. All the other hardware in our bathroom is oil rubbed bronze, so these chrome pieces stick out like a sore thumb. Alfi really should offer people the option to change out this hardware for different finishes. And third, the headrests - while a cool looking addition - are simply not comfortable. They are at the perfect height for when you're sinking into the tub, but it's disappointing that the material has no pliability and you can't sink your head into it. I think they should have used something like memory foam or gel inside to make it more comfortable.Again, none of these issues really compel me to dock a star because the tub is so well made and so beautiful, and when you're soaking in it all of your little complaints and gripes just fade away. I have zero regrets going with this tub and neither will you. (PS - like the rest of the Alfi tubs on Amazon, you're better off checking with Blue Bath direct - I purchased this tub for well under Amazon's list price).
