Works Well
I bought this to remotely control a roof heat cable. I have it plugged into an outside outlet and it works great. I can now control my heat cable through my phone and don't have to trudge outside in the snow to plug it in. It was easy to set up in the Smart Life app I had previously installed on my phone. I was concerned that it might not connect to my WiFi router from outside, but it works just fine. One of the features I like is it monitors and keeps track of how much power is being used. I'm looking forward to seeing how much it costs me to keep my gutters free of ice.

Waste of time and money
Bought this in July to replace my outdoor Christmas lights timer. Unfortunately I did not try it until today.1. Scanning the QR code for IOS, it goes to "app.yimusmart.com" but "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". I tried this hours apart with the same result. My phone/internet works fine.2. I downloaded the Smart Life App directly but the images shown in the instructions actually matches Yimu Smart app but in neither case can you select "Outdoor Outlet" so I registered with the Yinu app and tried smart socket.3. Really did not matter because the device blinks blue and magenta. It never detects a 2.4 GHz wireless network even though they are 3 inches apart.4. The app keeps saying connect to wifi first. When I get to enter the wifi password and hit Confirm a window pops up "Please make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi" Click OK and it goes back to the Confirm Wi-Fi password. If I click Confirm again it starts the same loop.It is useless. I spend 90 minutes for nothing. Stay away.

Perfect for our patio lights
Even though we're in our 60s, we're a very "tech savvy" household. We have multiple lights and devices connected to our Amazon Echo - so getting this outdoor outlet was a no-brainer when we installed our patio lights. It was fairly easy to set up - about the same as Philips Hue bulbs. Once added, I included it into our bedtime "routine" so it turns off with the living room lights, TV, etc. I also set it up to automatically turn off at 11:30 every evening in case the kids are visiting and we don't use our usual "Alexa...it's time for bed" routine. We've only had it a few days, but it's working very well so far.

a little tricky to setup with dual band wifi
Overall I am happy with the device but was tricky to setup. First the QR barcode brought up a website that said 404 Forbidden. Ended up downloading from App stove. Then could not get to pair. I think since my wifi uses dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz, my phone was initially set to 5Ghz. Switched phone to 2.4. Wouldn't pair. After researching similar devices on the web, some said needed blinking red lights, others said blinking blue and magenta. To reset hold down power button an plug in. Did this twice while pairing to phone on one cycle, one time blinking red lights came up, second time blinking blue/magenta. Check my phone and it paired up. Not sure which did it, but that worked for me after several prior attempts. I Really like the energy monitoring since I have it hooked to my grid tie inverter and can monitor energy & energy history generated by my solar panels. I was able to turn device on and off from over 100 feet from my wifi in my yard.

Live reading of kWh, voltage, amperage, and record daily useage.
Set-up is relatively easy if you are tech savvy. You need an app called "Smart life" from play store. A lot of other brands also uses this app. Depending on the support of your smart hardware, the app can display temperature, humidity, wattage and kwh, amps drawn, and so much more. Your hardware must support the functions for it to work. This smart outlet supports live reading of watt, amps, voltage and record daily total power usage through the outlet. You can create multiple schedules to turn on/off the device any time of the day, everyday, once a week, once a month or whatever you like. You can setup countdown timer also. The app is what control all these functions. You do have to register with the app to enable the functions but it's free. You do need 2.4 gHz. You do Not need to turn off 5 gHz if you have dualband. You do Not need a hub such as Alexa. You can view or change the outlet configuration from anywhere as long as you have internet connection. The smart outlet will retain all schedules if you get a power outage or power interruption.

Stopped working after 2 months.
Worked for two months now the light plugged in to it says on brightness when we turn the light off. Trying to figure out how to get it replaced.

Don’t bother with this comically complicated product.
If I could give it zero stars, I would.Don’t bother with this product. I have set up 3 different brands of smart outlets and this is the only one that gave me trouble. The app they give you honestly doesn’t even seem to be for this product (you scan a QR code to download the app) and has no option for setting up the outlet. Then when you go to search for the device (which is oddly not the default option) it searches forever.at another point, the app told me to scan a QR code to sync, of which was nowhere to be found on the product, the box or any of the instructions (other than the one to download the seemingly wrong app). It claims to only accept 2.4GHz WiFi, but I have both 2.4 and 5 band on my WiFi, and my phone was on the 2.4 band when I tried to sync it. They apparently use an unnecessarily convoluted way to connect in comparison to the other outlets which I set up in seconds. Spend the extra five or ten bucks on the other model instead of wasting time with this one. Returning
