This is a real solid block of a kadhai, even the smallest size weighs like a ton. For people wanting to cook in solid iron vessels, this product is a gem of a find. I ordered the kadai combo and am seriously impressed with the sturdy build of these kadhais.For people used to cooking on non-stick / other metallic kadhais: this comes with a textured surface, and will take some seasoning / nurturing to get used to. Maintaining this is also important, a simple wash would leave the surface coated in rust unless you remember to season it and store, and use it again before the oil starts to turn rancid. However the experience you get from cooking stuff in this would be unparalleled - there are master chefs who swear by cast iron vessels. It is a great find here, and you will be paying just a third of what you'd pay for a Lodge product. And in the bargain, you support a dwindling rural livelihood as well. Would request Zishta if they can find some flat bottomed pans / skillets as well for searing - I would happily spend on it rather than going for the expensive Lodge ones.

First I will describe the positive sides of this product:- Very good packing. Safe enough to keep the kadai from de shaping.- Very thick so that you can use on high flame without fear of burning the food item you cook.- Worth for money- Since this is extra heavy, excellent for commercial use where usage is high, rough & tough and the flame is stronger. Though I have ordered it for home use, I have decided to use it at my restaurant. The manufacturer may please consider producing similar kadai with half weight of the current one for home daily use.The negative points are:- Compared to the body of this utensil, the handles are very weak. Should be stronger.- Since this is very heavy, it is tough for daily home use.- The surface is uneven and rough.

It is not very smooth from inside. I have bought small one that is completely smooth and look like a non stick kadai.

Terrific! Very well made. Traditional. Very good heat distribution and retention. Does not stick, just as cast iron kadhai should be.It's heavy (as it should be). But you should know, so you're prepared for the weight.

Buy this if you are health conscious, you want some iron in your food, you hate fancy non-stick kadais, you want something to last long for generations, you want something sturdy on the stove.Don't buy if you don't like heavy kadai, you feel difficult to maintain cast iron cookwares.Note :- Cast iron cookwares are prone to rust when it contacts to moisture in the air and water.- This cast iron come with pre-seasoning, but still you can clean first time and re-season again,- Please check how to maintain in youtube before buying this, and find your needs and priorities.For me, i am completely satisfied with the quality and it's worth the money.

They should mention that it comes coated with a chemical anti rust coating . Which does not come off even after repeated scrubbing of 6 times !!!The reason a lot of people switch to cast iron instead of Teflon is because we want to remove harmful chemicals from our food !!What is the point of buying this kadai if it comes coated in harmful chemicals !!!

You can replace your non stick utensils with cast iron utensils. They improves your Iron intake as well. Product is pretty heavy. They can work on handle more to make it's use more safe and convenient to use. It's a bit costly but yes Value for money as well bcz. I you will not find cast iron products production other than South India and it's a one time purchase in your life span.
