Great, reasonably priced all in one printer
The Brother DCP-1610W printer was easy to setup via the CD installation disk provided, but the lack of a USB cable to connect to your PC was a bit surprising, but it's a standard printer USB so I used my previous printers cable so no major problem as long as you know that you need one. I set the wi-fi up using the printer menus as the WPS option didn't find the network, but it was straight forward and connected with no problems. You have to download the iPrint software to print wirelessly from your phone or tablet which was also easy to setup on Android and MAC. The one major surprise was that you can't load paper and shut the door, as A4 paper sticks out beyond the printer body and there is an extender which pulls out to support it. I keep the paper door shut when not in use to keep the dust out and load paper as needed, it's not a game changer but worth noting. The scanner/copier is good and the printer is quick and produces good quality laser prints. Overall it's a very affordable, well built all in one printer that produces good results at an excellent price.

Worth the MONEY!!
I’ve been using ink printers for a long time, but they always ran out too quickly and became expensive to maintain. I decided to switch to this printer, and I couldn’t be happier! It lasts for around 1,000 pages before needing a refill, which is a huge improvement. The print quality is excellent, and it handles large amounts of work effortlessly.I’m currently preparing for my GCSE exams, so I’ve been printing a lot of study materials. This printer has been a lifesaver—no more constant refills or worrying about running out of ink at the worst moments. The setup was quick and easy, and the overall performance has been flawless. On top of that, the service has been fantastic. Delivery was fast, and everything arrived in perfect condition. If you need a reliable, long-lasting printer, I highly recommend this one!

Decent printer but footprint larger than expected
I bought this for my sons room so that he could print his school work instead on of using my Brother inkjet printer all the time. The Brother Laser Printer is quite cheap for a printer and the replacement toner cartridges are a good price.BUILD QUALITYThe printer is quite light for a laser printer - I could lift the box with one hand. It is quite sturdy and has a single paper feed that can hold up to 100 sheets at a time. The paper input protrudes out from the front of the printer by a good 4 inches so make sure you have enough desk space as it is larger than the measurements given in the photos.SETUPRemove all the protective retainers and film/tape. The printer comes with a supplied toner cartridge which is straightforward to fitAs this is a wireless printer the setup is very easy. I used the menu on the printer to set it up and took all of 2 mins. Once connected it will print out a sheet providing details of the connection.Inserting the paper was more fiddly than I expected and the first couple of sheets printed at an angle. But with a little correction this was easily sorted.PRINT QUALITYI printed a photo from my phone and this printed in decent black and white. The printer is able to print 20 pages per minute of edge to edge printing which is quite fast - but fine do what we need.NOISEThe printer was noisier than in expected, certainly more noisy than my inkjet printer. In sleep mode there is obviously no noise.OVERALLDo be aware of the size - although printer itself is quite small - with the paper loaded the printer takes up more space. Nevertheless, this is a decent printer for the price.

Simple, easy to use printer at a reasonable price
My old Pantum printer broke down and I bought this Brother printer to replace it. I don't do a great deal of printing so I wanted a simply, easy to use printer which I could just plug in and go. I did not need colour printing - black and white was all I required. Neither did I want to scan or photocopy. Neither did I want to print from my smartphone or tablet - I only wanted to print from my laptop. So something simple and hopefully not too expensive was what I was looking for. This printer seemed to fit the bill. I noted what other reviewers said about it not coming with a USB cable so I retained the cable from my old printer. I encountered an initial problem in that the the printer came with a disc which was there to load the driver. The instructions showed the disc being slotted into a pull out drawer on the side of the laptop. My laptop does not have a drawer. However, I loaded the driver by going onto the Brother website. This worked ok so I was soon up and running. So far I am happy with the printer; It is perfectly sufficient for my needs. I will be interested to see how long the ink cartridge lasts and how much it costs to replace it. At this point I will investigate whether I can use compatible ink cartridges. Overall, however, I am happy with the printer.

Absolute Junk
Unless you want to be angry, frustrated and have a giant useless hunk of metal and plastic sitting in your study — avoid this printer like the plague.Set up was a nightmare. It refused to “see” my PC running Windows 11 on my home network wifi. I ran through setup multiple times. Even with the USB cord plugged into the PC, the printer had all kinds of print/sleep issues. After having it operational for less than 2 weeks, the power button started to intermittently cut out. The scanner button never worked at all. In a very short amount of time (within less than 3 weeks of ownership), the power button stopped working & printer would not turn on at all.So now I’ve been without a printer for months since the unit I got was unfit for purpose/faulty. Outside the return window, so I contacted Brother who were about as helpful as a a glass of water in a deluge. So now I’m out 150 quid and have to figure out if I should even bother purchasing another printer — but definitely never another Brother printer. The only thing this printer is actually good for is if you wanted to reenact the printer scene from Office Space.
