[update- 8/4/18] my bulb no longer works and simply flickers when it’s screwed in. It ‘connects’ to the app occasionally but doesn’t do anything. Simply just reads as being connected. I’m going to try and see if it’s a loose connection. Will update regarding whether or not it’s ‘easy’ to fix[original] This little bulb while inexpensive is a Passible alternative to its more expensive cousins. The bulb works well when linked through the app “smartlife” with ifttt and my google home is able to control it through both fronts.While the app “smartlife” gives it a bit more functionality; cycling through colors and flashing and pulsing, if you simply want it to change color and brightness, using it though ifttt is perfect.I currently have my lamp changing to cyan when it rains, red when it’s snowed and turning off and on at command as well as on a timer and when I leave the house.It does not change to music or ‘party’ like a hue bulb can but I am fine with that, I simply wanted a light I can yell at my google to shut off for me while I am on bedrest.The light so far has not had any safety concerns, it does not heat up nor has acted up in any way.I recieved this bulb at a discounted price but that has not changed my opinion of it in any way

I got this for my boyfriend as a gift. He had just gotten into smart home devices so he was really excited. The bulb worked as described; it dimmed, changed colors, and the app worked pretty well- until about 3 months of casual use. It wouldnt change colors, wouldn’t brighten at all (we couldn’t even see.. It was so dim) and it would flicker.I tried getting ahold of the company since these bulbs should apparently last years, especially with the way he had been using it.They asked for video proof, which I provided via email. Then they told me to send it through Whatsapp to a number that wasn’t even recognized (I only downloaded it to send the video.. not sure how to use the app but still). I never got the problem resolved by the seller.After buying new bulbs (new seller and brand) I can see a worlds difference. There are so many more color options, more vibrant, they can dim down through more levels of brightness, and the app works much better....Basically, don’t waste your money on low quality smart bulbs. Spend a little more money for longer lasting, more enjoyable bulbs.

I liked the bulb at first it worked very well but lately it has been just turning on staying all the time so much for trying to save powerUpdate 4-8-2018Ordered this bulb on 2-10-2018 as of tonight 4-8-2018 the bulb stopped working it shut off and will not come back on

Easy to set up on my current SmartHome app. Doesn't have very high lumens, but that is okay for me as I use these in the eight recessed sockets in my bedroom, so each individual light need not be all that bright. Your best bet with smart home products is to find an app that works well for your purposes and add units to that. Most SmartHome products will work off-label, they just don't advertise that as it eliminates a revenue stream of selling the data they collect with the ridiculous million app permissions. Every app is different, but a few things to watch for are how many units an app can control, and of what type, like lights, sockets, appliances. If you intend to continually add to your SmartHome, name your units carefully. They should be intuitive, and distinctive sounding for clarity in voice control. Highly recommend creating a separate 2.4 Network with your router just for SmartHome as a security measure. After that it's just a matter of adding new items and learning their capabilities. I will update this review if any issues or benefits particular to this bulb occur in future.

We are new to the "Smart Home" revolution and this light bulb is great. To be honest, I did not realize all I was getting with this one light bulb purchase. With this light bulb you can set the mood and then change it on a whim. Sometimes you want a brighter light to read by but then other times you just need a soft light for mood, this light does it all. And it does it all from the convenience of your smart phone. I really like that I can turn the light on before I come home so I do not have to walk into a dark house. When we are not home we can turn the light on at different times to make it harder for strangers to know if you are.home or not. This is a wonderful invention and we are purchasing several more. Pros:**cheap**quick, easy setup**Alexa compatible (personally unconfirmed)cons:**these do a lot of colors, but NO WAY they are capable of 16 million colors...I was able to discern about 16 different colors.**I wish they were a little brighter in color mode**I'd also like to know exactly what the warranty is on these products. The seller seemed a little weasley on that point in the questions, citing their professional support team, but not how long they will support it for. Seller should post the warranty terms somewhere in the product description.Overall? this is one of your cheapest routes into the home automation world (with colored bulbs anyway)
