L’Oréal Excellence Permanent Hair Dye Colouring Cream, 100% Grey Coverage, With Pro-Keratin + Ammonia-Free, Universal Nudes, 3U Dark Brown

I had not tried out a balayage kit before and so I was keen to try this one. When I first saw all of the bottles and the sachet of powder I have to admit I found it a bit daunting. Read the instructions fully before you begin is my advice - twice if necessary so that you feel confident in what you are doing. There is an extra step than I usually do in hair dying in that you also need to add the lightening powder to the mix and when you are done, in a week or so there is a smoky root mask you can use. There is an applicator brush, but when I did my initial test piece with this I found the result to be a nearly all over lift. The term balayage means 'to sweep' and the colour is supposed to become denser as you move down the shaft. I am probably just not very good at this technique, as well as perhaps because I have very dry, processed hair. Anyway, I decided to do what I tend to find works best with me and that is to wear gloves and put the high lights individually in strands where I want them. Not how it should be done I know, and if I had a friend who could have done it for me I would have preferred the applicator. Anyway, the colour result is very pleasing and actually rather natural looking on me. I have long hair and there was just about enough product for me. If you have really long thick hair, then you may need two kits.

I have to split the review into two segments as they are both covered under the same review.2U colour, Darkest brown:Has a good amount of product to get an even coverage. This left my daughter with an even shade all over her hair, as it was somewhat patchy before from bad dyes. Colour looks great on just past shoulder length hair and using the following highlighting kit has a great overall effect.Highly recommend for people who like darker brown hair colour or just want to cover up old dye with something reliable.Highlighting kit:This works well, doesn’t have any issues taking off colour for the highlights and leaving them a nice light-medium blonde tone depending on darkness of hair used on. My daughters hair is currently VERY dark brown. This actually resulted in sort of a caramel type colour for the highlights that looks nice.It is a decent kit but I would still want to use a highlighting cap as it’s much neater and easier to avoid getting the hair dye where you don’t want it.Still a recommended kit for the effectiveness of it though. Application was easy and my daughter was happy with the final result after many months worth of getting it “wrong”

I am a regular user of L'Oreal Preference. It's the best hair dye product on the market in my opinion. As a regular user, I've noticed it always leaves my hair feeling silk and glossy. I really notice the noisy irony benefits and it doesn't dry out my hair like other dyes can. Keeping my hair in great condition.Application is easy (instructions easy to follow) and the scent of the formula is not as overpowering as some other hair colours..it was actually quite pleasant! The moisturising treatment to use once the colour had been washed out, left my hair feeling so soft and managable. The shade turned out a lot lighter than I expected, but it was a nice change. The clour was vibrant and long lasting and i liked the multi faceted tones it had.

L'Oreal Paris has to be my favourite brand for hair, makeup, and skin products. This highlighting kit is available in a large variety of colours, and it is one I have tried before.Everything you need is inside, and it is really easy to use, just take a quick look at the instructions and follow them well. Make sure you use gloves as well.You leave it in for a bit and after you wash it out you are all done. The results are really good and it looks really professional. My hair looks really great, and the highlights are really obvious. The results are great and even though it is a little on the expensive side, I recommend it.

I highly recommend this hair dye - it holds its colour well, is easy to apply and did not cause any skin / scalp irritation when applied.The dye was easy to apply and did not cause any burning or discomfort when used. The dye also did a very good job of colouring her hair to a very dark brown (almost black) which, when applied looked lovely and has lasted a good few weeks. The dye applied evenly on long, shoulder length hair and did not cause any damage or impact on the condition of the hair.My wife was really happy with the results of this hair dye and will certainly be buying more in future. Well recommended!

I like this brand and have used other shades before. I find that it has an almost pleasant scent compared to some. Bleached my hair many a times but never used this kit before. It’s so much easier, and less painful than pulling hair through a cap. In my opinion the brush could be bigger but it was very simple to use, not easy to keep a hold of though. It did give the desired effect of highlighted looking hair at a budget cost though. Next time I choose highlights I would use this kit again, it’s great for beginners

This dye is great!!! Easy application, very accurate colour and lovely result!!!I trust L’Oreal a lot when it comes to hair dye as I have been using them for years and this is no exception!!!The dye box was completely open both ends when it turned up though, so the bottles were just loose inside the package! No damage was done, and it wasn’t leaking, but just not a great thing!

I struggle finding colours that don’t cause irritation so I’m always a little apprehensive when trying a different brand but this one is fab! No itching and no irritation at all, no ammonia but still covered grey roots faultlessly. It did stain my head a little but it came off much easier than my usual so big thumbs up. I’d buy again!
