Great Tool
I have been a fabricator for more than fifty years and have used many different brands og grinder during that time. My last one was another brand and finally burned up. So as I'm ready to retire I tried this one due to the price range figuring I won't be using it anywhere near as much as the old ones. Well I have to tell you I think this is one of the best I ever owned. Lone the feel of it, handles extremely well and is all around a great tool for the money. Would recomend to everyone who does this kind of work.

Excelente producto.
Muy buena potenciaSeñores fabricantes póngale una empuñadura (manigueta o agarradera) más robusta. La que trae es muy pequeña. Es el único punto flojo del producto.

Love our metabo tools and this is no exception
I've been slowly converting most of my power tools to Metab because they consistently make a great product. An angle grinder isn't the most complicated of tools, and there's nothing subtle about it, but it's certainly one I want to work right. The few adjustments it has are easy to do. Adjusting the angle of the guard is just a thumb switch and a twist. Moving the side grip is just a turn it to unscrew and screw on the other side. The safety shutoff is easy to hold and is on the back of the handle. Changing discs requires a tool, but at least has a thumb button for preventing rotation.Works great, and I don't think I'll be getting a new one any time soon.

Capable, corded...
Hitachi Power Tools is now Metabo and the name of this "HPT" angle grinder reflects its Hitachi heritage. This is a fine corded angle grinder--and a corded angle grinder is probably a good thing to have in your tool set. Angle grinders are the sort of tool you can't always substitute a battery model for. This grinder comes with a thick steel-cutting wheel. There's no bag and there are enough ancillary parts to this tool that a bag would be a nice addition. You need to keep track of grinding wheels, handle (because you'll probably use this without the side handle attached at times) and a spanner wrench for removing and installing grinding wheels. A bag would make it easier to keep this tool together with its parts. But in the end, I'm reviewing what's here, not what's not, and this is an excellent, powerful grinder. Notable positives about this grinder include:1) Brushless AC motor for longevity and power2) Easy-to-operate paddle switch3) Soft start makes it easier and safer to handle4) Anti-bind mechanism turns off power if wheel binds--guarding against kickback (and protecting against damage to the gears)5) Power-off protection. If voltage is cut during operation, unit will not restart until switched off.6) Wheel guard can be rotated a full 360 degrees without requiring tools to be moved.7) Spindle locks to install and release wheels by means of a push button on the top of the tool.I have an old DeWalt reciprocating saw that has a little rubber attachment on the power cord for holding the hex wrench necessary for installing and removing blades. That kind of thing would be a good addition to this tool. This is nonetheless a fine grinder from a company known for making quality electrical tools. Finally, I know I said I would not complain about what is lacking in this kit, but I don't believe any angle grinder should be sold without eye protection being included with the grinder. No company does so that I'm aware of. Grinders are exceptionally dangerous to your eyes. Never use them without safety goggles.

Corded 11,500 RPM 5" Angle Grinder w/Paddle Switch by METABO HPT-Strong Grinder!
I like to do woodworking and around the house DIY projects as well as most of my own vehicle mechanic work. This is a very useful MTABO HPT Corded 5 inch Angle Grinder that is torquey and has an 11,500 RPM (no load) 10.5 Amp motor with brushes. This has a 1 Year Limited Warranty. Metabo used to be HITACHI and are still based in Japan. They make excellent tools, I own several. This grinder has a paddle switch which features a safety lock that is easy to maneuver wearing gloves. I loved that since when grinding gloves are protective equipment that is required! This grinder has an easily rotated shield mechanism which needs no tools (P.2-4) to swing around. The locking nut on the spindle is a standard design (5/8ths" shaft for 7/8ths" hole Discs with collar arbor lock nut) and a spanner wrench is included. I will be attaching it to the super long 10 foot plus power cord (I like that!) with a zip tie. The tool comes with a side tool control handle which can be positioned at either side of the gearhead. The spindle lock is a standard push button on the top of the gearhead. This tool has a lot of power and runs cool. It draws air in at the back and blows it out at the front to keep dust out of the motor. Good durable design!I Recommend this Metabo HPT Angle Grinder | 5-Inch Wheel | 10.5 Amp | 11,500 RPM | Paddle Switch | G13SE3. Powerful corded tool for heavy grinding, cutting of whatever I wish when cordless just doesn't have the oomph.I hope you’ve found the information and my review helpful.

A great addition to your home toolkit
I own many nice tools, but this is my first angle grinder. This particular one is sold by Metabo, who bought Hitachi a few years ago. The letters HPT in the name stand for Hitachi Power Tools. They have a long reputation for making quality tools that are powerful and reliable. An angle grinder is a very versatile tool. It can be used for cutting metal, aluminum, concrete, bricks, pavers, wood, and other dense materials. You can also use it to sand and polish different surfaces. And of course you can use it as a grinder, as the name would indicate. Just be sure you buy the correct disc for the job you plan to use it for. I have used it for cutting metal so far, and it works very well for that purpose. Remember to wear gloves, a mask, and eye protection whenever using this tool.
