Iron Maiden Piece Of Mind UK CD album

The line up is solidified.
To say this is the first sign of Maidens deeper Prog Rock elements isn't entirely true. Killers is loaded with incredibly complicated textures and lyricism, but Steve's writing was still maturing, and Paul, god love him, did not have the range to use his voice as a 4th melody instrument. Clive, for all his style, was not as technically gifted as Nicko, nor did he have the jazz chops Nicko brings to PoM.Piece of Mind, like Killers, shows Steve's incredibly mature writing, in some cases chill-inducing brilliance, just like Number of the Beast. The subtle touches of vocal chops, the end of Revelations comes immediately to mind, show Bruce's growing influence and vocal dynamics. This also the true beginning to their literary and history songs. And Nicko. Oh Nicko. Classes could be taught from the drums on this album. An encyclopedia of styles are employed, sometimes multiple techniques person. In this configuration, this band took control of the 80s hard rock scene,

A "Piece" of Metal History
New Drummer...still a pretty new vocalist...and a pretty new fan base in the USA. Maiden comes out with a crushing new album. When this album came out it was absolutely crushing. Remember the times. 1983. Most music fans were still listening to Toto /Boston and Pink Floyd...all good bands...but not Metal...Judas Priest /Kiss/Sabbath was there but in no way as heavy /fast (at the time) Metallica/Anthrax/Slayer/Armoured Saint/Queensryche. Maiden showed us speed - power...melody....interesting thoughtful lyrics...musicianship..Steve Harris wowed most bassists in the world with his now legendary "gallop" bass lines(Trooper/Run to the Hills/Killers) and no one was quite as awesome as Bruce on vocals. Like any amazing album you have the hits The Trooper Flight of Icarus Where Eagles Dare Revelations BUT the other songs are also amazing ...just no hits. At the time the entire album was a bombardment of the senses … and most new metal heads listened...over and over... IMO you should too....get the is album.. listen to it all the through often ….and you will get it. Enjoy.

The greatest metal album of ALL TIME- BAR NONE!
Unbelievable masterpiece and I am not listening to any arguments otherwise. This is the greatest metal album ever cretaed. Period! Better than Number of The Beast. Better than Powerslave. Better than Master of Puppets or Ride The Lightning. Better than all of them!

Great, clean, quiet, and sleek.
This is definitely one of Maiden's best records. From the crisp flowing nature of Revelations, to the fast paced and ripping nature of Die With Your Boots On, and of course the epic battle anthem The Trooper. The packaging is very nice, high gloss and high res image on a beautiful gatefold. The vinyl itself is 180 gram and a very clean and quiet pressing. The only issue with it is that it was pressed at a low volume, so crank it up and up the irons.Packaging - 10/10Vinyl Quality - 10/10Sound Quality - 9/10

Great album from an iconic Heavy Metal band.
Great album from an iconic Heavy Metal band. Cannot say anything bad about it, just awesome. Just "The Trooper" alone worth getting this album, but there is even more; at least half of the album is well known by every one who has heard of the Iron Maiden.

If you have a record player, You need this in your life
This record works perfectly. I did have to reorder after the first time it was purchased, it arrived warped and skipping. However, they were more than happy to pick the item up free of charge, and I had a brand new one in perfect conditionon my door step the next 2 days after.Wonderful music, cool and original artwork, and good quality.

Least favorite Iron Maiden album I own
That being said, Iron Maiden always brings the sound! Good quality remaster. This must be their cheesiest album ever. Horrible lyrics. A side from Revelations, the best and only good song on the album, this album can $u€k a fat one. There are better live versions of Revalations elsewhere. If you are new to Maiden try Powerslave, Number of the Beast, Iron Maiden, hell Dance of Death is a better introduction.

5.00 stars- Iron Maiden's at the top of their game with PIECE OF MIND
I started to get into Iron Maiden in the late part of 1983, when I saw the video of "Flight of Icarus" on MTV. I went out eagerly and bought this soon after, and boy was I surprised when the songs that weren't being played on the radio, were even better than Icarus. "Where Eagles Dare" gets this album going really good, then the next song "Revelations" blows my mind it's so good. It's definitely on my top ten of Maiden tracks. I feel the same way about "The Trooper" also. "Die With Your Boots On" really kicks too, and is definitely in Maiden's top twenty list. I've heard some people put down "Quest For Fire", and "Sun And Steel", but in my opinion, they're also top notched tracks that are far from filler. This is definitely the very peak of Iron Maiden's output, and they were just a very tight outfit at this time back in 1983. I really wish that I could have witnessed this tour, but I don't think they came to my hometown back then, or I didn't hear about it if they did. If you're a newcomer, either start with this one, or give SOMEWHERE IN TIME a try. I'm sure those two won't disappoint you in the least. UP THE IRONS!!!
