As others have noted, the curved frame and gap between mesh panel and main compartment do reduce capacity. But no bfd, since I bought it for short excursions in warm/hot temps with minimal gear and it fits that bill perfectly. Plenty of ventilation and carries a modest load just fine. Like other Alps/Alpz products, design, materials, and workmanship are outstanding for the price point.This pack fit me waaay better than comparable (and much more expensive) models by Badlands and others. I'm 5-11, 165# with average length torso. YMMV.My only (minor) gripes are: 1) waist belt is not well suited for a clip-on handgun holster -- too flimsy and far back at attachment point (needs reinforcement) and 2) waist belt and shoulder straps are "plus-sized" so may not fit skinny folk.A great product overall, recommend w/o hesitation.

I like every feature of this backpack. I'm 6'3" it fits like great. I have only minor complaints. The bags water resistants isn't great so use the rain fly in rain. The rain fly does not cover your attached weapon and you can't attach the weapon with the rain fly on the bag. Next is the chest strap slide. If you're the type that doesn't use a chest strap the slide bar isn't sewn in all the way down the main strap and will dig into your shoulder a bit. Last is I wanted to attach some stuff to the waist belt behind the small pouches. However in order to put something there I.e. side weapon, knife, GPS and make it so that they are one hand retrievable I needed to reenforce the strap with plastic and Paracord. All of these seemed minor to be but hope it helps.

Awesome hunting pack - best I've ever owned. I finally made the decision to purchase this pack after comparing A LOT of other options before my Colorado elk hunt. I wanted something lightweight, comfortable, durable, and useful - this fulfills all of these criteria without question. The pack is light enough that I hardly notice it when empty, which means I can put all my gear in it and not be weighed down. It is comfortable enough that even when loaded down I can wear it all day and walk miles and miles up and down a muddy mountain without thinking twice about what's on my back. It is very durable, made of heavy duty fabric, has heavy duty zippers, and stitched together very well - I expect it to last a lifetime. Lastly, it is extremely useful - I especially like the sling pack for holding my calls and other things I need quick access to, the built in rain cover, and the rifle/bow mounts on the back. Yes, this pack costs more than most others, but it is well worth the money in my opinion.

I ordered this pack for an early season deer hunt in the high cascades of Oregon. I have used it for scouting so far and loaded it up to 60 lbs. This is an amazing little pack. Has a ton of compartments and they are very well placed. Carries really comfortable and doesn't rub when adjusted properly. My favorite aspect is the detatchable pouch. It sits perfecr for carrying my field binos and range finder. it light and comfortable and I would not hesitate to pack out a boned out deer with it. Great pack without breaking the bank!

The pack is well made but the points where the frame is attached to the hip and pads is such that it comes to a hard point about the size of a fingertip and jabbed me in the back with every step so after about 3 miles I couldn't take it anymore. I brought it home and tried to see if there was a way to reshape the frame to fit better but there is no way to reshape it since the frame is bent into shape under pressure and installed directly into the fabric. I liked all the features, the materials, I really wanted to keep it but it was just too painful to wear.

Comfortable pack. I have hunted two elk seasons with this. Comfortable to wear all day, the vented back is great. Heaps of room for all the stuff you think you need but never actually reach for. The small removable attached pack I found to be really useful. Zippers are good quality, the big rings are a cool idea too, when your wearing gloves they a super handy

This a well rounded pack with many useful features

I am an avid bow hunter and cover many miles of ground every year. This pack is by far the most well thought out pack I've had and I've had many! Very comfy and can carry a ton of gear.

The pack is awesome except behind the hip pads it digs into your kidneys and gets really annoying, I plan on cutting the corners out of the frame where the hip pads are to make it better
